new england feel

Funny, the Mayor came to my studio and his comment was how my artwork has such a “New England Feel.”  Having had time to clear the decks for today and get to work, I thought about just how right he was.  You see as a child, I had a certain infatuation with the Eastern sea board.  I was born and raised in Kentucky which I loved, however, I became besotted with New England when twin boys moved to my school and I adored the way they dressed.

Nantucket red pants, collars frayed at the edges, flip of the side parted hair, slip of the boat shoe and that was it, I researched Preppy and had to have bright yellow cords, monogrammed sweaters, shetland pull-overs and skyer turtlenecks.
